AssociationWeatherstone Pool Opening

After many delays, our pool will (finally) be open this year!  The Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting will be on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 12:00 PM.  The Opening Day Party and BBQ will be held immediately following the Ribbon Cutting.

HomeownersKeys will be issued and registration (waivers) will be available from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM on both Saturday, May 17, 2003 and Sunday, May 18, 2003.  Following these dates we will have a specific site for key issuance.  Each household will be issued one non-duplicable key.  Please be careful with your key, if it is lost or stolen, the replacement charge to the household is $25.00.  This will be charged to your assessment account.  The Board has set this charge to help prevent fraud.

Please watch for details as we finalize the festivities for this exciting day.  Also, look for upcoming information on the 4th of July BBQ and party!

Pool Regulations:

With the opening of our new pool, the Board has adopted the following initial regulations:

·        Tentative pool hours are 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM.

·        This pool is for Weatherstone residents and guests only.  Guests must be accompanied by a Weatherstone resident at all times.

·        There is no lifeguard on duty; swim at your own risk.

·        All children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult 18 years of age or older.

·        No diving.

·        Children must wear waterproof pants if they are not toilet trained.

·        No roughhousing or running is allowed in the pool area.

·        No smoking.

·        No bicycles, tricycles, skates, skateboards or scooters are allowed in the pool area.

·        No animals are allowed in the pool area (with the exception of guide, service, and companion animals).

·        Appropriate pool attire is required.

Payment Collection Policy

We have had a recent increase in the number of Weatherstone Households who have fallen behind in the payment of their quarterly dues.  Because of this, the Board of Directors, in compliance with the Weatherstone Homeowners Association Declarations, has adopted a “Delinquent Policy” which is enclosed with this newsletter.

This new policy has been necessitated due to the large dollar amount that is currently outstanding, as well as the recent difficulty in collecting the Special Assessment from a few households.

Payments will apply to the OLDEST past due amount first.  For example, if you owe $75 because you have not paid 1st quarter 2003 dues and you send in a check for $75 to pay for 2nd quarter 2003 dues, it will be applied to 1st quarter 2003.   You will then be assessed a late charge on the most recent quarter, 2nd quarter 2003, which will still be considered unpaid.

We appreciate your cooperation with this policy and welcome questions and comments.

New Weatherstone Website

The Weatherstone HOA Website is currently being redesigned.  The new Website will contain information about our community including news, events, FAQ, board meeting minutes, pool status, financial information, and much more.  If you would like to assist with the design and maintenance or have ideas for content, please contact Michael Del Toro at michael@weatherstone.us.  The new Website should be up-and-running by mid-April.  The URL is http://weatherstone.us.

Weatherstone HOA Meeting

The next Weatherstone HOA Meeting will be on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at 6:30 PM.  Check for updates on the Weatherstone Website for the location.  All homeowners are welcome to attend.

Snow Removal

Weatherstone has contracted with All Phase Landscaping to complete the snow removal for the common area sidewalks.  Please be advised that Douglas County is in charge of the maintenance and removal of snow on the streets in Weatherstone.

Block Captains/Social Committee

To keep the community more informed and to help plan community events, the Board has formed a Social Committee, which is made up of a person from each block within the community (Block Captain).  In some cases there will be more than one person representing a large block and a few smaller blocks may be combined. This committee is comprised of Community members who have volunteered via Community meetings.

The function of the Block Captains/Social Committee includes, but is not limited to:

  • Help keep our Weatherstone database current by collecting information about new residents, births etc.
  • Help keep residents informed of upcoming Weatherstone events.
  • Plan Community-wide social events, including pool parties, BBQ’s, golf outings and holiday functions.
  • Compile lists for babysitters, dogsitters, lawn mowers and trades people.
  • Coordinate volunteers for Holiday Lights.

We still need volunteers for:

Meyerwood Circle (2)                      Abbotswood Court

Southbury Court                                Weathersfield Way and Weathersfield Court

Brookhollow Circle                          (combined as one for the time being)

The chair of the committee is LeeAnne Willman (303-471-4321) and the Board Liaison is Michelle Nelson (303-346-3868).  Please feel free to contact either one if you are interested in participating or if you have questions.

Neighborhood Spring Garage Sale

The first annual spring Weatherstone Garage Sale will be held on Friday, April 25, 2003 and Saturday, April 26, 2003 from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM each day.  The Weatherstone HOA Social Committee will place ads in the local Highlands Ranch paper and the Denver papers, as well as place signs at the entrances.  Each homeowner will use their garage or driveway for this sale.  This is a great opportunity to clean out the closets and basements and have some fun with the neighborhood at the same time!
